CBSE Workshop:“Health Literacy Sensitization Program”

Soundarya Central School, under the guidance of Central Board of Secondary Education, successfully conducted the “Health Literacy Sensitization Program” on 14 February 2026 for teachers. The programme aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of essential health-related issues and to empower educators to make informed decisions regarding their personal well-being.
The session was conducted by Ms. Bensitta Lincy, Manager – Lead in Nursing Research at Health Care Global Enterprises Limited, Bengaluru. During the session, she highlighted that teachers play a crucial role in shaping young minds and must therefore prioritise their physical and mental health. She emphasised the importance of maintaining a balanced diet rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals, along with proper hydration and timely meals. Teachers were advised to limit junk food and sugar intake and adopt healthier lifestyle practices.
The session also stressed the importance of regular health check-ups to enable the early detection of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Practical strategies for stress management, including simple exercises, yoga, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, were shared to help prevent burnout. Ms. Bensitta Lincy encouraged teachers to take proactive steps towards self-care and overall wellness.
The session was informative and interactive, with enthusiastic participation from the staff. The programme successfully reinforced the message that a healthy teacher contributes to a healthy and positive learning environment.
