National Young Readers Week

National Young Readers Week, celebrated annually in November, inspires youth to love reading and emphasizes literacy’s significance. At Soundarya Central School, our Grades 3-5 gathered to honor Young Readers Day, aiming to foster a love for books among students.
Mrs. Meenakshi opened the assembly, stressing the importance of reading for knowledge, imagination, and creativity. Students delivered insightful speeches, sharing their book preferences and how reading impacts their lives, encouraging peers to explore diverse genres.
A Grade 3 student Harshitha hosted a captivating puppet show, bringing “The Lion and the Mouse” to life, illustrating the magic found in books. Raksha from grade 3 exhibited hoops dance for Barbie song. Mrs. Sreekala our guest speaker, inspired students to explore literature and guided them on expressing themselves through writing.
Miss Sannidhi, a Grade 5 student and budding author, shared her transformative journey, encouraging others to explore their talents. Her story emphasized challenges, growth, and a love for the written word, urging students to pursue their passions and embrace unique journeys.
Mrs Veena Sunil, Academic Coordinator concluded the assembly by highlighting reading’s transformative power and urging students to make it a daily habit, spreading the joy of reading in their communities. Every turned page, a step toward a brighter, knowledgeable future.
